Nicky Broyd reports on the South African Government stepping in to ban the screening, despite the censors passign it, of Cry Freedom, a film centred around the killing of freedom fighter Steve Biko by police. Includes reaction to the banning from Donald Woods, the journalist whose book on Biko and their friendship the film was based on; film’s director Richard Attenborough. Both comment on lack of freedom of expression under the apartheid regime. Includes music from the film.
