- Description
- Lynne Mennie interviews John Newman, leader of NUMAST, who says his members are being made scapegoats for the Zeebrugge tragedy following the decision to prosecute three ferrymen for manslaughter relating to the sinking of the Herald of Free Enterprise off the Belgium coast (06/03/87). The three NUMAST seamen facing charges are Captain John Kirby, who was not on board at the time of the disaster, the ship’s duty master on the night, Captain David Lewry, and First Officer Leslie Sable.
