Description

Harry Beer reports on the arrests of six people in connection with an assault on off-duty Metropolitan Police officer Nigel Jones. He is described as being in a critical condition in hospital following the incident near his home in Hornchurch, Essex. Includes statements from Chief Inspector David Easy; Constance Mason, neighbour. (Nigel Jones’s wife, Yvonne Jones, was later found guilty of his attempted murder and jailed for eleven years. Her lover Graham Keats and neighbour Adrian Watts, who attacked PC Nigel Jones with a knife and a hammer, were also convicted of the assault).
