Description
Peter Deeley reports on the riots by youths in the Elswick area of Newcastle in which several arrests were made following riots in the Meadowell area earlier this week and other cities over the last 2 weeks. Chief Constable of Northumbria Police Stanley Bailey voices his opinion of the rioters, and thier behaviour. Fire officer Ken Horne(?) describes the violence aimed at fire fighters as they tried to douse the fires started.
