Description
Des Fahy interviews Employment Secretary Michael Howard on the recent unemployment figures, which show another increase, but the lowest increase since January. Howard discusses the job losses in manufacturing employment, and claims investment has increased under the current government, and an end to the recession is in sight. He dismisses any link between unemployment and criminal acts, in view of recent riots in deprived urban areas which he says have received extra help, including Meadowell in Newcastle.
