- Description
- Mike Carlton interviews Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown, following his closing address at their Bournemouth conference which gave a gloomy view of Britain’s current state. He comments on the recent riots in deprived areas of Newcastle and Bristol and proposed links with unemployment and class. Also reacts angrily to the statement the Liberal Democrats won’t get anywhere at the elections unless they work with another party in a hung parliament. Outlines his proposals for proportional representation and where the party is going now. And makes some predictions about the next general election.
