David Simmons (standing in for Brian Hayes) interviews author Teddy (J E) Thomas (in Radio Trent’s Nottingham studio), who discusses his book, The Exploding Prison, which explores the prison service, riots and the cause and effect of imprisonment on levels of crime. The book focuses on riots at Hull Prison in 1976, and the subsequent investigation into the disturbances. Also interviewed is John McVicar, former criminal and writer.
