- Description
- Police in Los Angeles remain on city-wide alert to head off any trouble after the O.J. Simpson verdict is announced, sealing off many streets around the courthouse. No problems have arisen overnight but some officers fear a repeat of the 1992 LA riots, triggered by the acquittal of four white policemen in the videotaped beating of black motorist Rodney King. Sergeant Robert Hauck from the LA Police Department says officers will remain vigilant.
