- James Bays reports after actor Bill Roache, Ken Barlow in Coronation Street, was awarded £50,000 libel damages in the High Court for being called smug, self-satisfied and boring in The Sun newspaper. Reaction outside court from Roache and The Sun’s legal manager Tom Crone who claims the actor rejected an out of court settlement prior to the case of the amount he has now received.
