Description
Beethoven’s Tenth Symphony has received its first airing - played by Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Beethoven died before its completion but Aberdeen University lecturer Barry Cooper has recreated the symphony’s first movement from Beethoven’s notes. It has received a mixed reaction; conductor Sir Yehudi Menuhin heaps praise upon it but others have referred to it as a patchwork quilt made up of Schubert and Mendelssohn. Report by Linda Duffin includes music from the symphony.
