Political editor Peter Murphy interviews former Conservative cabinet minister Norman Tebbit about the battle for the chairmanship of the Tory European Affairs Committee - a key post in the run-up to EC political and monetary union talks in Maastricht next month. Sitting chairman Bill Cash, a leading Euro-sceptic, is being challenged by Sir Norman Fowler, regarded as a moderate. There had been speculation Tebbit would put his name forward, but he has declined, saying the contest should be left to backbenchers.
