- My Millennium talks to leading men and women about their vision and aspirations for the new millennium. In this edition Ed Boyle interviews former UK Prime Minister and ex-Conservative leader Edward Heath. He is rather pessimistic about the future. Talks about USSR disappearing as a superpower, end of the British Empire and growth in strength of other nations; European Union; role of the monarchy; how to improve public faith in politicians; decline in moral values and whether politicians should get involved; the press and its intrusion into privacy; future of the environment and balancing it against needs of the economy and people; rapid technological development. He believes people will not necessarily be happier.
