Dominic Waghorn reports on a rail crash outside Paddington Station this evening when an Intercity train from Swansea carrying 200 passengers converged on the same railway line as an empty Thames Turbo commuter train, derailing it and injuring seventeen. Includes eyewitness account from 11-year-old Aaron Kelly and Railtrack spokesman Brian Mellett stating the event should not have happened but defending the industry’s safety record in the run up to privatization.
