Paul Kenyon reports on a bomb attack at a bookshop in York. Police have revealed the device went off before the alarm was raised through ITN, and a major disaster was only averted by the prompt action of police. The bomb was one of four planted outside Penguin bookshops, the publishers of Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses. Includes interview with Inspector Ron Johnson. Broadcast on Viking Radio.
