On Sunday evening a group of leading theatre people, including Vanessa Redgrave, Susannah York, Simon Callow and Sir Peter Hall, will be taking the stage at the Adelphi Theatre, alongside representatives from the Soviet Theatre Workers’ Union. The occasion is a rally, followed by a concert of Soviet music and writing, in aid of the memorial that is to be built in Russia to the victims of Stalinist repression. As one of the prime movers behind the evening, Vanessa Redgrave has been talking to Carol Allen about the project for which they are raising funds.
