Peter Gould reports on talks between Vauxhall management and union representatives. Jack Whyman, leader of the union delegation, says they have rejected the first pay offer put forward by Vauxhall. It is believed the workers are not demanding as large an increase as the striking Ford workers. Personnel Director of Vauxhall, Geoffrey Moore insists talks have not broken down and refuses to comment on the Government’s five percent pay limit.
