Report on a pep talk to BBC journalists following yesterday’s strike over the banning by the BBC (following political pressure) of controversial documentary Real Lives: The Edge Of The Union, about political extremism in Northern Ireland. Journalists feared for freedom and independence of the BBC.The programme which includes interviewees such as Martin McGuinness of Sinn Fein condoning the use of violence is now to be shown at a later date in an edited version.
