Mark Phillips reports on strikes by teachers and health and social workers in Wandsworth over severe cutbacks by the council to maintain their low poll tax (community charge) level. The council’s leader, Sir Paul Beresford says there won’t be many cuts and the protesters have got their sums wrong whereas Bob Nightingdale from the pressure group Wandsworth Fightback says services are being cut.
