John Fraser reports from Brussels on a press conference featuring US Secretary of State James Baker (with excerpts) on the Gulf crisis following NATO foreign ministers meeting. Baker says he is not against a proposed EC initiative for talks with Saddam Hussein but the UN resolution for complete withdrawal by Iraq from Kuwait before January 15th must be complied with and the allies must unite in calling for a complete withdrawal.
