Margaret Shiels reports on Government plans to reform the National Health Service via the introduction of an internal market, which are expected to meet some of the strongest opposition facing any bill in this session of Parliament. The British Medical Association claims that the Government’s proposals will fragment the NHS beyond all recognition and warns that it is the patients who will suffer.
