- Description
- Interview with US CNN reporter, Ronnie Lovler, about a siege at a luxury hotel in El Salvador where guerrillas of the Marxist-led Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) have been holding guests hostage. The rebels launched a pre-dawn raid on the San Salvador Sheraton, taking hostage Joao Baena Soares, head of the Organization of American States, and other foreign nationals. There are no details on casualties, but two foreign journalists are known to have been shot. Ronnie Lovler says she believes the rebels may have freed some of their captives. Includes sound of shell fire at end of clip. The interviewer is not heard or identified.
