- Opposition spokesman Dave Dalling says that Dr Connie Mulder made the correct choice in resigning from the South African Government. Mulder, the Minister for Information, resigned following the scandal surrounding the funding of the Citizen newspaper with public money. Former South African Prime Minister (and now President?) John Vorster will now testify at the trial. Dunning also criticises South African Prime Minister P.W. Botha after he sacked Judge Anton Mostert who was leading the inquiry into the scandal.
