- Description
- Dr Gholam Ali Afrouz, Charge d’Affaires at the Iranian Embassy in London, says that during mass demonstrations on 07/09/78, the Shah’s troops killed thousands of Iranians. He says he witnessed piles of bodies at the back door of a Tehran hospital and many people were shot while waiting to give blood. He says Iran was the first nation to condemn the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and denies suggestions that Iran needs help from either the United States or the Soviet Union, claiming they are both imperialist nations trying to interfere with the affairs of independent countries. Male interview not identified. Three short breaks in audio.
