- Report on a meeting between Soviet Foreign Minister, Andrei Gromyko and President Valery Giscard d’Estaing of France. The Soviet Union condemned the aborted US attempt to rescue the American hostages in Tehran, saying it disapproved of any effort to interfere in the internal affairs of another country. Gromyko said his country would not withdraw from Afghanistan until it had managed to put a stop to political interference by Pakistan. Male reporter not identified.
