Description
Members’ Interests, presented by Graham Leach, with Keith Hill MP, James Moorehouse MEP, Harry Greenway MP and historian Mark Almond. James Moorehouse talks about being an MEP, the divisions between Strasbourg and Brussels, what constituency business he has to do, what problems come from being a fringe group in Europe, whether he is a big committee man, the EU’s work in peacekeeping, the internal politics of Europe, what Europe can do that the parliament can’t, and whether Britain is at the heart of Europe. Harry Greenway and Mark Almond talk about Bosnia. They look at where policy-making went wrong, the mistakes made, the Government doing things it said it would not do, whether we are heading towards a diplomatic defeat, and what we can do. Keith Hill presents his audio diary on a day in his life. He talks about school trips to Parliament, how he looks, what an MP has to do, and his views on Labour leader Tony Blair.
