- Description
- The US Government does not know what to do to release the American hostages in Iran. The situation has been complicated by the resignation of the Iranian Prime Minister and the arrest of the US Charge d’Affaire in Tehran, Bruce Laingen. The return of the Shah to Iranian authorities is out of the question because his health has worsened and he might need another operation. A military operation to release the hostages would be too dangerous. The reporter is Andrew Manderstam.
