- Description
- US President Jimmy Carter has frozen Iranian assets in the USA. In order to do so, a national emergency was declared. But many Iranian assets are in banks overseas and not all states will want to comply with the freeze, for fear of repercussions. Carter has claimed he had no alternative as soon as Tehran said it would remove its investments. US Treasury Secretary, G. William Miller says the hostage situation is very sensitive and he thinks the freeze will not affect them. Flights and deliveries have also been banned between the two countries. The reporter is Andrew Manderstam.
