- Demonstrators in Pakistan decided to take over the US Embassy after Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini issued a statement saying an attack on Mecca had been the Americans’ fault. The Saudi Arabian Ambassador in Washington has said that the terrorist attack was caused by religious fanatics. The Soviet Union has requested the release of the remaining American hostages being held in Iran. The hostages who have already been released will be arriving home in time for Thanksgiving. The reporter is Andrew Manderstam.
