Description

Monty at Large, presented by Monty Modlyn. This first part of this episode focuses on the Counterspy Shop in Mayfair, London, which sells surveillance and defence equipment. Includes interviews with company director Joanne O’Neill, manager Brian Morris, electronic sales manager Philip Lloyd. Joanne O’Neill says the Shah of Iran ordered a special security car from her company but never took delivery of it before he was deposed. Part 1 ends abruptly, mid-interview. Part 2, with a Texas theme, comes from the US Embassy in Grosvenor Square in London. Begins with a rendition of the Yellow Rose of Texas and interviews with Bobby Boyd and Scott Hicks from Texas. Monty also interviews Jose Sierra, a Native American chief from the Tewa Pueblo tribe; beauty queen Diana Durnford (Miss El Paso); self-styled British cowboy Johnny Concho and his wife, Leslie, from London; Patricia O’Connell from San Antonio; an unidentified male from Laredo. Three unidentified British men and a woman talk about a cowboy club in Kent. Also includes interview with Frank Hilderbrow(?), who organised the Texas-themed evening.
