In this episode, actor Ian McKellen talks about his new play, Venice Preserv’d, by Thomas Otway, and choreographer Richard Alston talks about the new Ballet Rambert season at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre. Writer, John Constable and director Roland Rees talk about their play, Black Mass, based on the Trinidad Carnival. Photographer Angus McBean talks about an exhibition at the National Theatre entitled, The National Theatre’s Twelve Years at The Old Vic, in which his work will be on show. Director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Bill McAlister, talks about arts funding. Actor, Corin Redgrave talks about his return to the theatre. Norwegian conductor Per Dreier talks to Richard Robbins about his interpretation of the composer Grieg. The programme is played out by The Gathering of the Trolls, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
