- On his weekly Monty at Large show Monty Modlyn visits Fairfield Halls in Croydon in south London where he looks at the work of and interviews members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) about make-up of the orchestra, their music, and about funding. Speakers include: John Bimson, French horn; Prudence Whittaker, clarinet; Keith Pearson, clarinet; Albert Piafsky(?), violin; Barry Griffiths, leader; Ron and Ted Lee, road managers; John Charles, personnel manager; Sidney Weissblum(?), violin and shop steward; Arthur Davison, conductor. Includes excerpts from recordings by the RPO. Sound is in mono.
