- Pub licensing laws haven’t been changed in nearly 70 years, and general opinion is they need updating, Decision Makers canvasses public and political opinion and examines the issues. Conservative MP Jack Wheeler of the select committee calls for an update on the laws and a cut in restrictions. The laws differ all around the UK, but general opinion is that flexibility is required. Opinion is mixed but in general its felt longer opening hours will not result in a rise in social problems or alcoholism.
