- Our Kind of Town. In the first part of the programme, presenter Keith Howell visits Battersea Dogs Home in south London and examines the history and work of the institution via an interview with Director-General, Colonel Henry Sweeney (aka Tod Sweeney). The second part of the programme looks at life in London during the Second World War via the recollections of artist and writer Barbara Dorf. Also includes recording of (We’re Gonna Hang Out) The Washing On the Siegfried Line, performed by Sydney Lipton and His Grosvenor House Dance Orchestra, and of That Lovely Weekend, performed by Dorothy Carless. Engineer is Steve Middleton; producer is Bavin Cook. Two parts of programme divided by break in audio.
