Description
First part of LWT Weekend World programme presented by Brian Walden on the Yorkshire Ripper and originally broadcast in October 1978 when the serial killer had murdered 10 women. He remained at large for three more years. Includes report by Hugh Pile on the police investigation into the murders of the prostitutes and other victims. Also interviews with Maureen Long, who survived a Ripper attack; and Assistant Chief Constable George Oldfield of West Yorkshire Police, who is leading the investigation. With ITN news headlines from Trevor McDonald.
