- Network. Part one of two broadcast today. Mr Marks and Mr Spencer - the story of Marks & Spencer, narrated by Peter Wheeler (or Whelan?). The partially dramatised story of Michael Marks who emigrated from Belarus to England and went on to found the company, Marks & Spencer with Thomas Spencer. Written by Barry Hill for Piccadilly Radio and broadcast on LBC as part of the Network series of programmes produced by independent radio stations around the country. Male continuity announcer not identified. Sound quality deteriorates as recording goes on, though still audible.
