- Murder by Gaslight. Part 5: Wicked Charlie, Innocent Bill. The final murder mystery in this series of dramatised true stories set in Victorian England. Written by Leo Knowles; narrated by Leo McKern. The life story of (wicked) Charles Peace, who murdered Arthur Dyson and Constable Nicholas Cock. Peace was having an affair with Katherine Dyson. He was in the process of carrying out a burglary at Whalley Grange when he killed Constable Cock. Charles Peace sat in court as he allowed (innocent) William Habron to be sentenced for the murder of Nicholas Cock. He confessed to the murder of Cock as he was about to be hanged for the murder of Dyson. Habron was subsequently freed. Cast: Graham Roberts, Delia Corrie, Victoria Hardcastle, Will Tacey, Charles Haggith, Brian Southwood, James Tomlinson, Paul Clayton, Andy Abrahams, Charles Foster, Kate Leigh(?).
