Look Back In Hope, presented by Lawrence Spicer. A programme about the International Year of Disabled Persons, organised by the United Nations. Bob Holness reads a poem about disability by Roger McGough and interviews campaign president Lord Snowdon (Antony Armstrong-Jones). Lawrence Spicer interviews campaign workers Keith Howe and Carolyn Keane; writer and mouth painter Christine Smith, who suffers from muscular dystrophy; Dr Wendy Greengrass, who works for disabled charity SPOD; Jenny, who suffers from multiple sclerosis; pupils of St Paul’s Girls’ School, London. In four parts, divided by breaks in audio.
