- Description
- A portion of the second half of Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study In Scarlet, in which Sherlock Holmes make his first fictional appearance. The second half is called The Country of the Saints and jumps to the USA and the Mormon community, incorporating a depiction of the Danites. Includes an appearance by Brigham Young, in a somewhat villainous context. Told in a third-person narrative style, with an omniscient narrator. The last two chapters return to Watson’s account of Holmes’s investigation, and then Holmes’s own explanation of his solution. In these chapters, the relationship between the two halves of the novel becomes apparent. Narrator not identified.
