- The 1938 Pathé credit is for ‘Wyre,' which is almost certainly a mistake for Wyer.
Career
Reginald Wyer entered the film industry in 1919 as a camera assistant. ‘AT THE ROCK OF AGES’ in Pathe Super Sound Gazette No.31/65, of August 1931, was filmed in Somerset and credited to ‘Wyer Publicity Pictures,' which was possibly Reginald Wyer. He was also credited in the camera teams for ‘ROYAL SILVER JUBILEE’ in Super Sound Gazette No.35/36 of May 1935, and for ‘THE DERBY, 1938’ in No.38/44 of June 1938. In the same period Wyer worked as lighting cameraman on a number of films, and after the outbreak of war in 1939 he worked for Verity and other companies on a series of MOI shorts. After the war he was lighting cameraman and director of photography on a large number of feature films.
