Career
Jack Barnett was a cameraman with the American Movietone News, who in 1942 began supplying the British Movietone News with film of the American troops in Britain. His first credited story was ''DOUGH-BOYS’ IN ULSTER’ in British Movietone News No.663 of February 1942. He was shown being presented to the King - along with Dick Harris [qv] - in ‘ROYAL GUESTS FOR U.S. TROOPS’ in No.682A of July 1942. By November 1942 he was at the front, supplying film for ‘NORTH AFRICA - ALLIES CALL THE TUNE’ in No.703. His last credited report was ‘BLASTING THE AXIS IN TUNISIA’ in No.717A in March 1943.
