Career

Albert Wherry was a cameraman with Gaumont British News after the second world war. He also worked as a cameraman on Rank’s ‘Look at Life,' which began in 1959, and became well known for his aerial shots from aeroplanes and helicopters. According to Peter Hampton [qv] Wherry did a number of similar freelance assignments for Movietone after the closure of ‘Look at Life’ in 1969, and he was also credited as working on ‘SOCCER: ENGLAND V WEST GERMANY’ in British Movietone News No.2239A of May 1972.

He also worked on Roundabout (1962-1974), a technicolor cinemagazine made by Associated British Pathe and later British Movietonews for the Central Office of Information. His only known credit is ‘ROBINSONS PACKAGING’ in Roundabout No. 83, released in April 1969.
