J. A. D. Cartwright was a director, employed by the Shell Film Unit [qv]. He directed many stories for the Shell Cinemagazine, including ‘FLYING ELEPHANTS’ in Shell Cinemagazine No.19 of 1952, ‘COASTAL TRADER’ in No.11 of 1948, and ‘NEWCOMEN’S ATMOSPHERIC ENGINE’ in No.20 of 1952.
