James McKechnie was probably an actor and worked as a commentator on the cinemagazine This Is Britain, produced by the Central Office of Information [qv] for the Board of Trade [qv]. His only existing credit is for ‘NEW STEEL PLANT’, This Is Britain No.38, made by Merlin Films [qv] for overseas distribution in 1949. A few years later he provided the commentary for ‘A FISH AUCTION AT HULL’ in Unilever Magazine No.8 of 1956.
