Julia James directed London Line (1964-1978), a magazine programme produced by the Central Office of Information [qv]. These films were shown throughout the Commonwealth in two editions, ‘Old Commonwealth’, for countries that had recently joined primarily Africa and the Caribbean and ‘New Commonwealth’, which included more established members such as Canada and Australia. She worked for the production company Granville Studios and directed one of the first issues, London Line No.4 released in 1964.
