P. Young worked as a cameraman on several issues of the cinemagazine series Rhodesian Spotlight (1955-1959), Federal Spotlight (1959-1963). His earliest known credit is for ‘News from Nyasaland ', Rhodesian Spotlight No.66, released in 1958.
