Career
Maurice Denham made his stage debut in 1934 with the Hull Repertory Theatre, and remained with them until 1936 when he broadened out into theatre, radio, and television. In November 1937 he was given a trial at Movietone, as commentator for an item on the Paris zoo in British Movietone News No.439A, entitled ‘LES ANIMALS: French lesson by Maurice Denham.' Denham was also credited in the commentary team for No.447 in December 1937, but seems not to have done any further work for Movietone. In 1939 Denham joined the company of ITMA, but in 1940 he enlisted in the army. On demobilisation in 1946 Denham began film work, and went on to a distinguished acting career on stage, film and television.
