Johnson was a regional cameraman for the Pathe Gazette, providing film from Birmingham and the Midlands. His first credit is for ‘MILITARY FUNERAL OF MR DOUGLAS P PIELOU, MP, AT DUDLEY’ in Pathe Gazette No.1364 of January 1927. Johnson was also in the camera team that filmed ‘THE GRAND NATIONAL, 1933’ for No.33/25 in March 1933, and this is his last surviving credit.
