- The 1947 credit is given as ‘Lindemann.' The name ‘Lindy’ is used on the 24 March 1956 shotlist for ‘THE BOAT RACE’ in BPN File Number 2616. Lindeman and sound engineer Tony Pullen [qv] were shown with their equipment in British Paramount News Number 2619, ‘ORESTE IS HERE!' of April 1956.
Career
Lindy Lindeman was a newsreel cameraman first credited for ‘WALLABIES BEAT SCOTLAND AT MURRAYFIELD’ in British Movietone News No.964A of November 1947. Lindeman was also credited in the Pathe camera team that filmed ‘CHARLIE CHAPLIN COMES HOME’ in Pathe News No.52/78 of September 1952, and in March 1953 he was credited in the Gaumont camera team that filmed ‘MARSHAL TITO IN BRITAIN’ for Gaumont British News No.2004. Lindeman also helped to film ‘THE GRAND NATIONAL’ for Gaumont British News No.2007 in March 1953, and in June 1953 he helped to film ‘THE CORONATION OF QUEEN ELIZABETH’ for Gaumont British News No.2026. He was silent cameraman for ‘RUGBY - OXFORD v CAMBRIDGE’ in No.2080 of December 1953. Lindeman afterwards filmed ‘ST. LEGER’ for Pathe News No.55/73 of September 1955, and in February 1956 worked with Arthur Farmer [qv] on filming ‘NEWCASTLE BEAT STOKE’ for local editions of British Paramount News No.2607. By that date he seems to have been working for Paramount, filming ‘B.I.F. OPENS FIRST SHOW OF YEAR’ for British Paramount News No.2608, and continuing with stories such as ‘IDEAL HOME: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ON SHOW’ in No.2611 of March 1956.
