Career

Dudley Lovell was born in London, and entered the film industry in 1932 with Gaumont British at Lime Grove Studios. He worked as a camera assistant and camera operator until the outbreak of war in 1939, when he joined the forces. On demobilisation in 1944 he returned to the film industry as a camera operator on feature films. It seems that he also did occasional newsreel work, for ‘Lovell’ was credited in the camera teams for ‘THE CORONATION OF HM QUEEN ELIZABETH’ in Pathe News No.53/41 of June 1953 - filming from Parliament Green, and ‘THE QUEEN COMES HOME’ in No.54/37 of May 1954.
