Career
Bob Monks was a Irish cameraman, first credited for the local Irish item ‘KING LEOPOLD VISITS FIFTH DRAGOON GUARDS’ added to Pathe News No.56/41 of May 1956. Monks provided regular items from Ireland, later recalling that ‘I worked for Pathe News and on a few stories for the Pictorial as a Stringer Cameraman in Ireland, and even on a couple of Grand Nationals and on the Inauguration of the Prince of Wales.' The latter story was released as ‘THE INVESTITURE OF THE PRINCE OF WALES,' taking the whole of Pathe News No.69/54 of 2 July 1969. Monks also worked freelance for Movietone, providing footage for ‘RUGBY - SCOTLAND OUT PLAY IRELAND’ in British Movietone News No.1917A of March 1966. His final credit however is for an untitled story in Pathe News No.69/71 of August 1969.
